GEMS Midtown Concert Series

Filigree Ensemble explores the many roles of a mother through the lens of the iconic figure, Mary, mother of Jesus. Featuring selections from the Cantigas de Santa Maria, soprano Christina Kay and mezzo-soprano Kim Leeds display the human side of Mother Mary through these epic, sometimes even comic miracle stories from the 13th century. Alongside the Cantigas, Filigree will highlight other works by female Baroque composers that exemplify Mary as a mother, creator, protector, and saint.
